Common Sense Education – a national nonprofit dedicated to helping children and families thrive in a world of media and technology – recognized Abbott, Helen Keller, Lindbergh, Lincoln, Lugo, Mark Twain, Marshall, Washington, Wilson and Will Rogers elementary schools, Hosler and Chavez middle schools and Firebaugh High School.
Lynwood Unified’s Innovation Coaches have been using Common Sense Education's innovative digital citizenship curriculum that teaches students, educators and parents/families tangible skills related to internet safety, protecting online reputations and personal privacy, media balance, managing online relationships, and media literacy.
Innovation Coaches were critical in engaging the entire school community in the importance of helping students take ownership of their digital lives, engage with real issues and change their communities for the better.
