The Lynwood High Academic Decathlon team completed the 20/21 season with 10 medals for the year and reached Division II for the first time in school history.
The group took home medals in Social Studies and Science thanks to seniors Saul Cruz and Isaac Andrade; four Medals for the Interview competition with Celeste Noriega and Evelin Bernal scoring near-perfect 990/1000 scores. Issac Andrade and Diana Piedy also medaled.
The team also took two medals in Speech with Celeste Noriega and Evelin Bernal winning. Celeste Noriega won a medal for her essay as well! Team Captain Celeste Noriega scored an impressive 6079 points, a school record, to win Team MVP.
