The Plug-in to Earth Day Essay contest provides high school and middle school students in Lynwood an opportunity to describe through words their ideas about changing the world and their community. This competition encourages students to think of ways to conserve water, recycle, composting, saving energy and other related environmental topics.
To participate in the contest students must submit an essay answering the following:
- What do you as the most important way to improve the environment and your community?
Submissions must be received by April 20th at 5pm to LEAD@SCE.COM. All essays must be a maximum of 2 pages (double spaced) which include, student name, contact email, school and grade.
Winners will be announced on Earth Day, 4/22, during the Plug-in to Earth event.
You do not need to be present at the event to win.
Judging will be based on creativity, originality, completeness, appropriateness to innovation and theme.
Prize will be awarded for top-selected entries!
