Welcome to Lynwood Unified School District...
With 12 elementary schools, three middle schools and three high schools, as well as preschool, adult education and independent studies programs, the Lynwood Unified School District serves more than 15,000 students in a culturally-diverse community. It is our mission to prepare every child for college and career by providing them with a rigorous and engaging instructional program, with the strong belief that every child deserves the chance to succeed.
July 1 was my first official day as Superintendent of Lynwood Unified. However, I have had the opportunity to get to know this great community over the last three years through my role as Deputy Superintendent.
During that time, our District has reached new heights and continues to strive for excellence under our Achieving Greatness Initiative, a strategic plan we began implementing in 2011. This instructional initiative calls for a more defined college preparatory pipeline, while also bolstering vocational pathways and strengthening professional support for teachers. It is my top priority to continue using this framework to increase academic achievement for all of our students so that they can become successful and productive 21st century citizens.
Lynwood Unified has a strong commitment to education and that commitment is clear in the variety of opportunities we offer, from career-technical courses, college preparatory coursework, fine arts and athletics programs, and more.
We couldn’t do the important work we do without the support and meaningful partnerships with our parents, staff, teachers and broader community. We strongly believe in collaboration for the benefit of our students and families.
As you explore our website, you will find a great deal of helpful information about Lynwood Unified’s programs, activities, important dates and upcoming events.
