VIDEO: Lynwood Unified Celebrates Women’s History Month, Honors AAPI Educators

Lynwood Unified celebrated Women’s History Month by honoring women of Asian American and Pacific Islander descent and their inspirational journeys toward success during an Educators in Action panel on March 12.

Hosted by the Equity, Access, and Instructional Services Department, the panel featured Rejielyn Ceredanio, director of Occupational Therapy Services; Phonna Blanco, Parent and Family Engagement Specialist; and Kristine Ono, Assistant Director of Innovation, Expanded Learning and Data.

During the event, Lynwood Unified educators shared their experiences as children of immigrants, their cultural ancestry, and how they navigated their college and career journeys. Students and families also shared their stories while engaging in college readiness games and connecting with the panelists and other attendees over dinner.

Lynwood Unified is dedicated to recognizing women's invaluable contributions throughout history. By commemorating their achievements, resilience, and advocacy, students gain a deeper understanding of women's diverse roles in shaping society and inspire future generations to break barriers.  As schools celebrate Women’s History Month with spirit days, assemblies and other educational activities, Lynwood is committed to providing enriching experiences and promoting inclusivity.
