Our 3rd Annual State of the District went virtual this year on Oct. 23! Student scholars and District leaders shared successes of the past year and a vision for future success!

hello my name is Anastasia was too and I miss you not far behind I'm the president of the young black Achievers and my future profession is to be an attorney it has always been my dream to become an attorney because I know that with this profession I'm able to make a difference I know the two cheapest I will need to come back to the path of success it will require long hours a commitment to study out of for University and dedication to learn my craft and pushing for Excellence has been a challenge I'm determined not to let it become an obstacle in my path to success Fire by the support of my Educators and mentors who have Bridge the physical Gap do technology and have continued to help guide me through these kind of equity for all students and the efficiency Chief the life of your dreams this is the foundation for who I am as a student and future leader and as I progressed through my life I'm determined to help create a strong foundation for the young people who follow me thank you for investing in nutrients in helping Glenwood remain strong hello my name is America Castaneda high school I'm a child of immigrants my mother is from Guadalajara and my father is going to stay. they are the American dream I raised three children attended college and I'm excited to be the fourth my dream is to become an engineer and ultimately a professor I want to throw the knowledge and confidence in to Young students like I show them that their dreams are possible I'm the president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and Society women Engineers I take pride in both of these roles and enjoyed collaborating with those who share my passion compassion is a characteristic that defines me and I think also defines language I care for the well-being of those around me and want to see them all succeed my city and District have shown me that it shares this Devotion to others I would not be on my current path all the support of so many people around me they have continually inspired my passions and a part of me with some knowledge that I too can change the world around me distance learning has challenged us to strengthen our support systems bind us together in support of our student I want this concerning has created a clear importance on technology and academic success we should never forget the social emotional tools that keep us vital and strong Lynwood unified has established a student services hotline admit the pandemic to provide a place of reassurance and the foundation of compassion for a community we speak to parent Guardian students and those answers to questions of Uncertain times we are honored to stand with the Lynnwood Community as they stand with us collaborating to create a new educational environment for student by teaming up with the city of Lynwood leaders we have also been able to serve more than 10,000 families in need with fresh healthy food options through the district food pantry program families can receive pick up and go packages of cheese Dairy kiss produce meat and snacks simply by appointment at local locations we are determined to stand with our neighbors during difficult times and the food pantry provides the basic needs that keeps families going and allow children to focus on reaching their potential through the State Farm and family program be the LA county regional food bank we have also been able to provide the city of Lynwood with the addition of food for its Meals on Wheels program that serve seniors as well as those in need and disturbed by faith-based institutions the food pantry not only represent an important resource for those in need but an important alliance between partners were committed to serving those around us these challenging times have that Community is our greatest resource we are Lynnwood when faced with a global pandemic are distributed like technology to channel new ways to inspire Learners during school closures Educators often stuff out of their comfort zone and Linda to Virtual instruction to continue igniting the flame of student achievement from YouTube login to reading sessions on Facebook live We Share both assignments and dance moves that our commitment to Nacho Libre cast guidance joy to our children each of our District 20 schools operate the social media account that continually provides updates and encouragement we have also work harder than ever to remove all technological topical stay in the way of success our district has provided 10500 laptops of families Mini at drive-thru distribution sites that provided a safe environment the district has also purchase more than 3,000 Hotspots for internet access and work with internet providers to serve the community at an affordable cost does time distance learning has also given us the opportunity to prove our school studies for future opening we recently began the construction at Lynnwood High School on a building Improvement that allows us to also SS all structures at the new high school camp Barbe High School students will receive a new state-of-the-art stemlab beginning in Fall 2021 this building will expire Young Learners to pursue success and science engineering and medical Fields many of our campuses have received new playgrounds music inferences and improvements that will enhance our learning environment when we return to our campuses for on-site darling will be energized by new tools that means even greater results for our students hello everyone I wanted to just once again thank you for joining us today for our annual state of the district at a time when our families students and staff needed to support all of you have come through and we indefinitely grateful to you at this time I also want to take him over to thank and acknowledge the Lynwood Unified School District Board of Education for their dealership and support I also want to take a moment to thank Lynnwood Sid the Reformed Church of LA Greater Emmanuel Temple Lynwood Sheriff's the Lynnwood rotary La Regional Food Bank giving children hope the Linwood Alumni Association all of our families our students are teachers and of course the Lynwood Partners Educational Foundation I want to thank all of you for your ongoing support I look forward to seeing all of you for next year's state of the district address in-person thank you
