Middle School Wellness Day Inspires Students through Special Workshops

More than 1,300 middle school students engaged in cutting-edge workshops meant to inspire them in new ways during the District’s Middle School Wellness Day on March 22. Students were inspired through virtual workshops that included e-sports, social justice, chemical reactions, cooking, yoga, anime and so much more.

The District designed the event as a way to energize students and break from the norms of standard curriculum. Students expressed their appreciation and enthusiasm for the wellness day during written exit surveys.

“This gave me motivation,” one student said.

“I enjoyed the drawing, it was so much fun,” another commented.

“This made me reflect on my daily life and how much I need to change it,” a student revealed.

The District has plans to continue the events and said it was a reminder that educators should continually look to challenge students through instruction in new ways.
