A total of 12 Lynwood Unified student-athletes brought home top three ribbons during the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF) Track and Field Championships on June 3 at Warren High School in Downey.

The students qualified for the meet through strong performances in April’s District Championships along with a qualifier meet on May 19.

Mark Twain’s Mia Perez (Softball Throw), Jeremiah Gomez (Softball), Alyssa Huerta (Girls 800 Meters) and Jennifer Morales (Softball Throw), as well as Abbott’s Ivan Cerriteno (Softball) and Tracy Martinez (Girls Long Jump) were among the first-place winners.
