SCHOOL OF ATTENDANCE

To determine your child’s school of attendance, please call our Student Services Department at (310) 886-1618. When you give your address, they can tell you the elementary, middle and high school assigned to that address.

This web site features maps to assist you in determining your child’s school of attendance.

Attendance Options

The Lynwood Unified School District currently provides comprehensive educational programs for children enrolled in kindergarten and grades 1 through 12.  These programs are available on a limited basis through statutory attendance options, to students who reside outside district boundaries.  Addition attendance options as described below are available on a limited basis to pupils who parents or guardians currently reside with in the district’s boundaries and to pupils who have established residency {EC 48204(c) or EC 48209}.

Current statutory and local attendance options available to district pupils are as follows:

  • Intra-District Open Enrollment: A program of open enrollment that is available to pupils whose parent/guardian have established residence within district attendance boundaries to select the school within the district that the child shall attend. Application is made at the district office.
  • Inter-District Attendance: Two or more school districts may enter into an agreement to allow a pupil to attend a district outside the district of residence. Applications are available from the school in whose attendance area the pupil resides.
  • Parent Employment-Related Transfers: School districts may but are not required to admit an elementary pupil to its schools whose parent/guardian is employed within the boundaries of the district.
  • Inter-District Choice: A program of inter-district choice which allows students whose parent/guardian live outside district attendance boundaries to attend school within the district. Pupil selection shall be based on a random, unbiased process. Applications for all sites are received at the district.
