Q: ARE WE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A LUNCH APPLICATION AGAIN FOR THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR?
A: YES! You must RENEW your child’s application every school year. Submit ONE application per Household and enter all names who reside at this one address.

Q: IS THERE A DEADLINE TO SUBMIT MY CHILD’S LUNCH APPLICATION?
A: YES! You must submit your application by September 24,2010 so your child can continue to receive their eligible meal.

Q: WILL I BE ABLE TO DROP OFF MY APPLICATION DIRECTLY TO NUTRITION SERVICES AT THE DISTRICT OFFICE?
A: YES! Starting July 15, 2010, for a speedy approval, you may drop off your application at Nutrition Services Department during the hours of 7:30a.m. and 4:00p.m. When school starts your child can submit the application directly to the cafeteria manager.

Q: WILL MY CHILD QUALIFY FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH?
A: YES! If you child qualifies for the National School Breakfast/Lunch Program, they are eligible to obtain both breakfast and lunch at no cost as per Guidelines.

Q: WILL I BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD AN APPLICATION ON THE WEBSITE?
A: YES! You can download an application at www.lusd-ca.schoolloop.com Click on Nutrition Services. Applications are also available at the District Office Nutrition Services Dept or at your child’s school.

Q: WILL MY CHILD HAVE THE SAME STUDENT ID NUMBER NEXT SCHOOL YEAR?
WHY DO THEY NEED A STUDENT ID NUMBER?

A: YES! Your child will have the same Student ID Number until he/she graduates. Your child’s Student ID Number is also your child’s MEAL account number. Please have your child memorize his/her Student ID Number. Call Nutrition Services for your child’s Student ID Number.

Q: WOULD I BE ABLE TO CALL SOMEONE TO RECEIVE ONLINE PREPAYMENT ASSISTANCE?

A: YES! Please call Nutrition Services Department and we would be more than happy to walk you through our online prepayment feature.

Q: WILL MY CHILD’S ACCOUNT BALANCE ROLLOVER FOR EVERY SCHOOL YEAR?
A: YES! Your child’s account balance will rollover for the startup of every school year.

Q: DOES OUR DISTRICT SUPPORT HEALTHY SNACKS AND BEVERAGES LAWS FOR OUR STUDENTS DURING SCHOOL HOURS?
A: YES! Our District supports Healthy Snacks and Beverages.
Any food brought in from the outside to your child’s classroom should fall under the following criteria: Not more than 35 percent of its total calories shall be from fat Not more than 10 percents of its total calories shall be from saturated fat Not more than 35 percent of its total weight shall be composed of sugar, including naturally occurring and added sugar Not more than 175 calories per individual food item
Any beverage brought in from the outside to your child’s classroom should fall under the following criteria: 100% fruit juice Two-percent-fat milk, one-percent-fat milk, nonfat milk, soymilk, rice milk, and other similar nondairy milk Drinking water with no added sweetener

Q: DO YOU PROVIDE MODIFIED MEALS FOR ALLERGIES OR MEDICAL CONDITIONS?
A: YES!! A doctor’s note must be provided with full details of child’s condition. You may request a Medical Statement form from Nutrition Services Dept at the District Office.
